Busy preparing the Western Art History presentation the whole of yesterday and today, We've decided to do a presentation on:

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Hans Holbein's Ambassadors

and Jean Fouquet's Virgin and Child. (Whom we've affectionately dubbed the Janet Jackson)

We were glad of our choice, a bit too glad, cos we were initially worried over whether we had the ability to sustain a 25 min presentation, and now, looking at the immense amount of trivia and facts we have dug up on both paintings, we are more worried about not being able to say everything we wanted to say within the allocated time. These are two seriously facinating pictures – its hard to believe they were painted in the 14th and 15th Century, especially the sculptural quality of the Madonna.

I'm rewatching Angels in America again, i just never seem to get sick of it, you see something different everytime you view it.

Did a little bit more research on Carnivale (2003) – one of the most facinating part of the series was its opening sequence, think desperate housewives but much much more complex
go here http://www.hbo.com/carnivale/behind/credits/index.html to see how it was made. Apparently it tok 6 Months to make! Yikes!
