refest weekend
Spent the weekend at resfest events and screenings… couldn't afford all so only went to three, videos that rock, cinema electronica and the traktor retrospective. very inspiring… its quite overwhelming, having to sit through so many videos consecutively, and many, though good, simply gets lost in the onslaught of visuals.
there were a few that stuck though, one video i really liked was Carpark North's Human directed by Martin De Thurah, found his video online at www.duckling.dk – click on showreel, and its the rightmost icon on the first row. Skimmed through the rest of his work, really like the colours in his videos… and the emo feeling feeling quality to them
liked hifana's wamono MTV muchly too, below are some photos from the W+K tokyo lab exhibition at Haji Lane, i think it will be on for a while, check it out if you're into japanese design.
stumbled across this polish book exhibition at the new national library a few days ago, quite interesting too… dunno whether this is still on though, the book in the picture on the right is called “Orpheus and Eurydice” i wonder why.
