Films

Last day of school… its been a school year! Free for 4 mths, what on earth am I going to occupy myself with? Half my class is going into film, so I’ll get to see them again next semester. Good news is that NIE is opening up their Minor in Drama to ADM students too, so I hope to take some drama courses next semester.

Finally got foundation year outta the way and set to pursue what I’m interested in. On a movie watching spree and book reading session now. Finished Mark Haddon’s Curious Incident of a Dog in the Night last night… was a heartwarming tale lah, and starting on Michael Cunningham’s a home at the end of the world today.

Film fest movies have been wisely picked this year so they were all relatively enjoyable so far. Manderlay lived up to its expectations, but I still preferred Dogville. Nicole Kidman was a better Grace. Zozo is heartwarming as all films about children in war torn situations would be, but I felt the story meandered a bit too much towards the end.

The biggest surprise for me was President’s last Bang – which was ferociously enjoyable. I think I’m getting a taste for Korean movies, their graphic violence, sex and captivating storylines. Caught Old Boy not long after President’s last bang and that was another FWAH.

Busy trying to apply for scholarship with MDA, don’t wanna owe my parents money lah… and rather work it off then have to pay it off…. Hopefully can get, if not will have to try other means….. or maybe work part time ….
