PUSAN
So Solos is going Pusan for its world premiere
just finished the final final final cut last friday
and it now runs at a brief 68 mins
i am happy with this cut,
but everything is so ’old’ in it
its been 2 1/2 years since we started production
and now i am going to have to answer for a film i filmed 2 years ago
its just strange and difficult at times.
i’m not even in the same mental state anymore as i was back then.
4 more SG films going,
1. Anthony’s Ah Ma
2. Royston’s 881 (who is having a gala premiere – there are only 2 Asian films chosen for a gala premiere, the other asian film is HHH's Red Balloon, i am happy for royston and his success)
3. Tan Pin Pin’s Invisible City
4. Ekanchai’s Pleasure Factory
I’m not sure if this year’s PIFF has the most SG films in its 12 year history, but it definitely was an increase from the 2 last year.
Looking forward to going, not only to see my own film finally have its first screening, but more importantly to watch so many other films i have hard so much about, here's my list of must watchs
1. HHH’s Flight of the Red Balloon
2. Gus Van Sant’s Paranoid Park
3. Lee Kang Sheng’s Help Me Eros
4. Lew Seng Tat’s Flower in my Pocket.
5. 4 months 3 weeks and 2 days
6. Roy Andersson’s You, The Living
7. Secret Sunshine
and the list goes on…… I heard tickets are really difficult to secure though……
